2025 Home Renovation Savings Program – Energy Rebates in Ontario
Ontario homeowners can take advantage of energy rebates starting January 28, 2025, through the Home Renovation Savings Program. This initiative helps reduce energy costs and improve home efficiency with rebates of up to $10,000 on qualifying upgrades.
🏡 Who’s Eligible?
✔ Homes heated by Enbridge Gas or connected to Ontario’s electricity grid
✔ Detached, semi-detached, row/town homes, or mobile homes on permanent foundations
✔ Must be occupied for at least 6 months (new builds not eligible)
💰 How the Rebates Work
🔹 Home Energy Assessment Stream (Up to $5,000 for gas-heated homes, $10,000 for electric homes)

Requires an energy assessment and at least two eligible upgrades within 180 days
🔹 Single Upgrade Stream (Rebate varies by upgrade, no energy assessment required)
🔥 Key Rebates Available
✅ Insulation: Up to $3,600 for exterior walls
✅ Heat Pumps:

Up to $7,500 (electric-heated homes)

Up to $2,000 (gas-heated homes) (Must be NRCan-listed)
✅ Air Sealing: Up to $250 for exceeding targets
✅ Windows & Doors: $100 per opening (Minimum of 3 windows or 1 door)
✅ Smart Thermostat: $75 rebate or discount
✅ Solar PV & Battery Storage: -
$1,000 per kWh for solar (Max $5,000)

$300 per kWh for batteries (Max $5,000)
⚠ Important Notes
🚫 No grandfathering for past HER or HER+ program participants
💰 Canada Greener Homes Loan can be combined, but rebate stacking within this program is not allowed
